Whereabouts is Disneyland?

Where is? How far is it from? What are my transportation options?

These are all questions I've heard countless times for several popular destination spots in and around Los Angeles. One of the most popular destinations in Southern California is Disneyland so I'll use it to initiate the Whereabouts ...? posts.

 Exactly where is Disneyland?

Disneyland is located at 1313 S Harbor Blvd in Anaheim, CA 92802 - about 26 miles South East of Downtown Los Angeles and 33 miles South East of  Hollywood.

It is serviced by (5) major local airports.

They are John Wayne Airport (SNA), Long Beach Airport (LGB), Ontario International (ONT), and Los Angeles International (LAX),  Bob Hope Airport (BUR).

View Directions to Disneyland Drive, Anaheim, CA in a larger map

John Wayne Airport (SNA) is 14 miles away - about 16 minutes by car (35 in traffic) approx. $52.00 by Taxi

Long Beach Airport (LGB) is 19 miles away - about 29 minutes by car (35 in traffic) flat rate of $45.00 by Taxi

Ontario Airport Int. (ONT) is 33 miles away - about 45 minutes by car (1:00 in traffic) approx. $98.00 by Taxi

Los Angeles Int.      (LAX) is 32 miles away - about 40 minutes by car (1:00 in traffic) approx. $95.00 by Taxi

Bob Hope Airport  (BUR) is 41 miles away - about 48 minutes by car (1:20 in traffic) approx. $124.00 by Taxi

In addition to the taxi estimates above, each airport offers Town Cars & Shuttle Service.

Note: San Diego International Airport (SAN) is 95 miles away so I don't include it as a local airport.

Amtrak
Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner transits California's coastline from San Luis Obisbo to San Diego with several stops in between including one at the Anaheim Station, fairly close (about 4 miles) to Disneyland. Catch a cab (about $14) or transfer to the Anaheim Resort Transit Route 15 bus, which will take you directly to the Disneyland Resort.

For more information on Amtrak's schedules, fares and route information, please visit the Amtrak website.

  2. how do the juistiction restrictions work with cabs in the L.A. area. Where are you allowed to pick-up? which cab companies serve which areas? just wondering, I saw when I was in manhattan beach that the 5 or 6 cabs in the area at around midnight on friday or saturday were getting hailed, and i wondered which cabs were authorized for which areas since mnhtn beach is not within L.A. proper.
